    STIHL Easy2Start™ (E)
The STIHL Easy2Start™ system makes starting STIHL outdoor power tools almost effortless, eliminating the need for a strong pull of the starting cord. This advanced starting system is designed to make starting STIHL products easier. The specific system may vary by model, but in each case, a quick pull overcomes the engine’s compression to minimize the strength and effort required to start. Available on selected products.

    IntelliCarb™ Compensating Carburetor
The IntelliCarb™ Compensating Carburetor is designed to automatically adjust the air/fuel ratio when the air filter becomes restricted or partially clogged and maintains the engine’s correct RPM. IntelliCarb™ uses air from the clean side of the air filter to control the diaphragm and flow of fuel. As the air filter becomes dirty and less air is available for the carburetor, the IntelliCarb™ system adjusts the fuel flow to compensate for the decrease in air flow. This is in contrast to typical carburetors that utilize this air from the “dirty” side of the air box.

    Quick Chain Adjuster (QCA) (B)
The Quick Chain Adjuster (QCA) (B) allows the user to adjust the tension of the chain without the use of tools. This allows for easy chain adjustment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product for the price First new saw I bought, always a fan of Stihl. Cuts awesome, great power for the size. I just use it for personal home firewood cutting. Sometimes the initial stat takes a few pulls but it pulls over easy. Highly recommend for a starter saw for the price!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from great features, but poor product life expectancy I'm a homeowner who bought my 211c because of good past experience with my Dads 1971 model Farm Boss. I wanted a saw that wasn't as heavy, but had the cutting power to take down 4 diseased and one lightening damaged red , and white, oak trees on my property. I went to my local Stihl dealer, explained what I needed to accomplish, and what I was looking for in a saw. I told him my budget, and he recommended the MS211c. Being in my early 60s, I really liked the easy pull feature, and the chain adjusting feature. He assured me that it was capable of doing the job. Bought it with the 6 pack in the spring of 2015. Started using it to cut up a diseased oak that I had felled with a rented Stihl earlier. The 211 started and ran fine for the first couple of days. The third day it wouldn't start. I took it back to the dealer and his certified mechanic put a new carb on it under warranty. Used it the rest of that season, and for the 2016 season with no problems. Late November 2017, I'm 2/3rds through with cross cutting the fifth and final tree ( all were cut into firewood for my fireplace), when the saw quit cold and I was unable to start it. My investigation showed no fire in the spark plug. I replaced the plug, still no fire. Ran the recommended tests and determined the coil to be bad. Replaced it with a genuine Stihl coil, got it running again, but it was very hard to get it to start, and the easy start feature quit working Made 5 more cross cuts with it, turned it off to move some limbs, and it has never started again. Took it to my dealers shop. It had fire, but the mechanic said he couldn't get it started either, and that the compression check was only 40 lbs. He declared the motor to be bad, essentially worn out. Looking at hours run, and total wood cut ( maybe 5 cords at best) and the fact that the saw has only run on pure gas and Stihl oil ( only 3 bottles of which have been used, ) the math doesn't work out for the total life and hours of this saw for it to be worn out already. Very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very powerful saw. Super easy start. Starts like a dream. Very powerful. Get some chaps. It's a bit heavy, but the weight of the saw takes all the effort out of cutting through bigger wood.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect fit Starts easily, Good balance, A real wood eater. Excellent quality fir the price, compared to others I have had, this out performs the others. Much quieter than the others as well. Best chain saw I have owned. Should have bought Stihl first.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, light saw! I’ve been cutting firewood most of my life, was a logger for a summer and have always run a Stihl. I’ve spent most of those years cutting with an ms310 and an 084. The Ms211cbe was my first brand new saw purchase and I chose it for the price point/features size & power to weight ratio. This saw has been a pleasure to cut with and perfect for firewood chores. After running larger saws for years, I was not disappointed in choosing a smaller, lighter saw. Mine came with an 18” bar and I have no complaints whatsoever and would purchase again and recommend to anyone needing a saw exclusively for firewood. The no tools chain adjust and easy start feature make this saw a dream to start and run. 110% satisfied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Meets all my expectations. This my 1st day of good use, mind you, but this saw "almost cranks itself. Light weight, cut through a 6" log as it were butter. All the people were correct when they told me this was the best buy for the $$$. The cranking design is genius. Honestly, all I had to do was pull the cord a quarter of the way out and the compression spring did the rest of the work. It's light weight. Very good investment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dependble, user friendly I bought the 18" MS 211 to replace an aging MS 230, 16" unit. I liked the 230 and was used to the easy access gas, oil, easy start, and especially chain tensioner feature of the 230, which the 211 has. One improvement to the 211 is the easier tab to switch the summer/winter carb heat deflector using a finger switch. On the older 230, it was a few more steps to do this seasonal requirement. So far for routine homeowner duties like small dead trees, fallen limbs, limbing, high wind cleanup, it is a great choice based on modest weight and reliability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plenty of power and just big enough to do what i need. I have had a few different saws but even the other stihl saws I've had felt underpowered. That is not a problem with this saw though. The easy start makes it much better for my shoulders also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MS 211-C 16" bar I've put this saw through the ringer for three years maintaining a pecan orchard. Just finished cutting up tree that Hurricane Irma brought down, and trunk was about 2-1/2 to 3 feet in diameter and had fallen over a fence. Handled it with ease, although I had to cut on both sides to complete the cut. Never had a problem starting it, and I remember back to the days when my dad would pull and pull on lesser brands to get them running. By the time you did, you were bushed. I do choose to pay more for the premixed fuel mixture. Was skeptical about the way you tighten the chain and the kinetic starting capability but thought I'd go high tech. Glad I did.Only problem I've had is the cap for the oil reservoir can be tricky to get back on. Fuel one is not a problem, snaps right on every time.Workhorse of a saw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from workhorse Not sure how many hours I've got on it, but a lot. Ideal for limbing, cutting smaller firewood. Easy start, easy to tighten chain. Light weight makes it easy to cut sideways or overhead, work your way into tangles. Did wear out an oil line, not expensive to get fixed. Low vibration, i find controls easy to use and it all fits my hand (XL glove size).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It does everything I ask it to do. Great chain saw for a home owner like me. I have used my saw to cut down and process more than twenty small and medium sized trees so far with no problems.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice, light and easy to use This saw is great for home use. Light and easy to use, it handles the light stuff with ease and is durable for the big jobs as well. Love the easy to open and close fuel / oil caps along with the tool-less chain tightner. Looking forward to using this saw for many years to come.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Won't stay running I have only used this saw a couple of times and when I needed to use it I put fresh fuel in the tank and after the saw got hot it would not stay running. I took it in because it is still under warranty. The dealer told me the problem was bad fuel even though I had just purchased it from Quick Trip non alcohol pump so they insisted it was not under warranty and charged me for the diagnosis.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light weight, excellent for occasional use. Good saw for bucking and felling an occasional small tree. Starts easy and idles well. Runs smooth with little vibration. Easy to move around in the brush.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great ! Works great and easy to use , starts good and light weight. You do have to mix oil and gas as all 2 strokes require . Got mine free from a friend as someone put straight gas in it :)Put a new piston in it today and runs great!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wish I had never bought it I have had it less than one year. It is at the dealer's for the third time, twice in two weeks. I have gotten less than two hours of use out of the saw in one year. I only need it when we have storm damage. Always have to borrow the neighbor's electric chainsaw, because the Stihl MS 211-C does not work. After the second repair, I got +/- 1/2 hour of good use out of it. Then the throttle stopped working again.I pump 5 gallons of 93 gas into my truck's tank, before I get a gallon for the saw. This should assure that I am getting the best gas. I use Stihl's oil addiive and Stihl's chain oil.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very dependable saw I've used Stihl saws for over 40 years. When I needed a smaller lighter saw for general maintenance on our property I selected the MS 211 C- BE. The light weight, easy start and dependability where at the top of the list for my needs. Like my other Stihl saws, there is no disappointment here. Very happy that I stayed with a Stihl.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Saw, used it a ton I love this chainsaw. I purchased it 9 months ago and have run it hard. I thought by now I would have been testing the warranty but no problems. Anti kick is nice and vibration damping is something special.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Quality Bought this chainsaw awhile back and my father and I have used it extensively. We've cleared many areas and cut many, many trees down. Not one problem out of it what so ever. Always used STIHL fuel mix, and used 100% gas as well. Only thing I've ever done for it is get it another chain because we wore out the original.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY THIS SAW PERIOD The MS 211 is a dog. I've tried several brand chains, several different cut chains and 93 octane gas. Nothing works, saw bogs down under load, hence wears chain faster. On 4 different occasions I started with fresh chain and after 20 to 30 minutes put it down and picked up my 20 year old other manufacture saw of same size and HP. It will literally cut circles around this Stihl. I am a homeowner that started with 95 trees on my lot. I have removed 31. Most work, except for the 4 occasions, was performed with the other manufacturer's saw. Stihl required 2 edits of this review before they would post it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Update to my earlier 3 year review I just got my saw back from my local dealer. They did a wonderful job and replaced the bar oil reservoir and piston under warranty. Saw runs good now and I have turned it over to the wife for her use. I am a little disappointed that it needed major repairs after only three years but give kudos to Stihl and my dealer for standing by the extended warranty.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Buy the MS180 I cut my fair share of firewood (15-20 cords/year) I own and swear by Stihl products. I also run a 036 Pro and a MS180. If your looking for a small saw for topping out and trimming, go with the MS180. I can't put that little guy down! Lightweight, powerful and easy to sharpen. And cuts circles around the 211. I had nothing but carb issues since I purchased it last year. I'm frequently adjusting the carb to keep it performing. I grab the 180 every chance I get, that alone should signify how much I prefer operating the MS180.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 3 year review I've owned this saw for three years. The first year it performed well then it started to leak bar oil when it was not being used, then it would not run after it warmed up. It's in the shop for the third time but I am afraid I just wore it out. I take care of my tools and have performed a tune-up and clean the air filter regularity. We have heavily wooded property that we are still clearing, I have a MS311 and it now the go-to saw but would like a lighter saw for limbing and the wife to use. This is the last homeowner grade saw I will buy. The farm/ranch or professional series are much better if you plan on using it a lot.
